This Parent-Teacher Creature Greets You!

When you tie the knot there is a mixed bag of reactions, but quite often it goes like this:
"That's it! Your life is over!"

When you have kids there is a mixed bag of reactions, but quite often it goes like this:
"That's it! Your life is over!"

That doesn't really mark the end of the world! What is so beautiful about life is that it does not stagnate. It shifts and moves like the currents in a river. No one ever steps into the same river twice! And it is up to each individual to either roll with the tide and have smooth sailing or fight the currents and drown.

My husband and I enjoy our sons, and we ignore cryptic remarks like:

"Two boys! How on earth do you manage?"

"Uh oh. I'm so glad I have girls. Boys are always up to mischief."

"Wait until he's two. Then you'll be standing on your head and wishing he was still one."

"You think things are tough now? Wait until he has an opinion about everything!"

"You think you have it easy, eh? Once they become teenagers you're going to be driven up the wall."

The truth is, each stage has its own set of challenges, and parents are ever-growing with their children. Once we realise this, it makes the growing and the journeying so much fun.

And I am doubly blessed. I am not just a mom of two beautiful boys who are currently ten and seven years old, I am a teacher who has had the privilege of teaching young people in their third year of college up to little people of Class I. I enjoy every moment spent with these kids because each of them is so fascinating. I have learnt to identify every single one of them as individuals, and to treat them as such -- and the learning is just so immense and gratifying.

So, on this blog, I propose to share my experiences as a parent and as a teacher. I look forward to sharing tips and tricks I've tried on my sons and kids in school, and hope that, whether you be a parent, a teacher or both, you will be able to take something away with you from this blog.

Signing out until the next post,
That Parent-Teacher Creature
